Purposes in research

Inorganic crystals are formed by ordered arrangements of various kinds of elements in the periodic table. Their properties appear due to the individual nature of the constituting elements, their chemical bond and the crystal structure. Our research group focuses to find out new inorganic solids useful in

  1. opto-electronic application for future information technology,
  2. gas storage and battery materials for energy saving and environmental problem.
One of our research characteristics is a development of low temperature preparation method for new highly functional oxides, nitrides and oxynitrides. We are studying new preparation methods of inorganic solids in solution route and also in application of laser heating. Formation of thin films, nano-sized crystals, and large single crystals, and also microstructure control are important in our investigation on new property evolution in inorganic solids.
Research A New functional metal oxynitrides by ammonia nitridation through citrate route
Research B Nano structure control in nitrides and oxides of iron for high functionality
Research C Chemical-composition control and physical properties of the layered cobalt oxides, AxCoO2 (A = Li, Na)

Purposes in education

We would like to grow research fellows who can work in global academic and industrial fields. Our students will obtain brilliant knowledge on ceramics related inorganic materials. They will be required to freely discuss in global standards. We would like to invite the students who are interested in an application of your brilliant academic accomplishments to the industrial fields by joining to our research group.
